Starbucks

Starbucks has revamped its website since I last visited. They've made some great improvements as it loads faster and is easier to navigate.

They've added a new promotion, a free beverage on your birthday if you register at this link:

Unfortunately you will need a Starbucks card and account to do this. I haven't tried this yet. It looks like there is a cost involved besides the set up time. No free lunch here or as it seems truly free beverage.

Has anyone tried this? Is there a hidden cost for the card, other than customization?

I did not see anything special for birthdays and you need, unfortunately, to register for both.

It would be better if they ran active promotions each week online and specials for persons who visited their site. That could keep the web traffic flowing and interest higher.

They should also make the move that other fast food chains have made online to have a bright and friendly kid's sections with a few games and pages to color...and the occasional free parfait.

For those of you with children, Webkinz has been a big success by taking advantage of online games for kids.
