Cousin's Subs- 50 % OFF...a franchise

There were no easy to find coupons, discounts or freebies but a surprise discount. It was something we have not covered yet in this blog,franchising.

Jimmy John's

Jimmy John's which describes itself as a gourmet sandwich shop, also has an overly busy site but it is less annoying than the Subway site.

They do not have any clubs to join from what I saw,nor any coupons,freebies or specials

Blimpies

I was not able to find anything other than a special offers page.

The good thing is that you do not need to join. The bad thing is that it appears to be a regular promotion and nothing special for taking the effort to hit the web.

Subway

Subway's website is cluttered with too much action. Too many images moving in different directions detract from looking at the site, finding information quickly and wanting to stay. It's a good site over all but the lack of focus with the animations is very annoying. If we are stuck viewing a zippity news scroll by, it should be at the bottom where the impact would be better and less distracting after viewing the flash at the right.

Quiznos

This was covered before, a month ago, but in interest of Hoagie/Submarine week here and to keep it handy dandy for you, it is:

A word of warning to you MSG sensitive folks. They have monosodium glutamate in some of their foods. What's worse, if you ask the employees, not all of them have been trained on this topic so they can give you the wrong answer.

They offer a free cookie on your birthday if you sign up for their email newsletter. Other than that there is no mention of any coupons, discounts or freebies.

Submarine/ Hoagie Week

KFC: Tomorrow is UNFry Day

According to a recent email:

"KFC has declared Monday, Oct. 26, "UNFry Day" and restaurants across the country will be giving away free* samples of Kentucky Grilled Chicken (KGC)."

Now it said samples, so I don't know how much food that equates to but the free part is good.

Denny's

National Donut Day

Just when is National Donut Day, you ask? Why June 5th, of course!

I haven't found any recent information on this but it looks like two of the donut franchises listed earlier have had in the past free donuts on that day.

It's worth putting it on the calendar for next year if you are a big donut fan at least as an excuse to celebrate if nothing else,

Dunkin Donuts

Lamar's Donuts-Free Donut and Coffee!!

Lamar's Donuts has a "Lover for Life Card" that you can pick up at the restaurant. They also have an online sign up that promises a free donut AND coffee! That some great freebies!!

What's more? Their site says, special offers, free birthday donut, buy 11 dozens and get 1 dozen free, buy donuts on five different occasions and get a free donut on your 6th visit, buy five coffees and get the next free,and a free donut on National Donut Day.

Just one this week from all the places I signed up.

Scooter's- One day only (15th), Free Harvest Moon Latte

Scooter's tends to run very short promotions. I feel that a promotion should last at least a week and if it's a special for sign up only customers it should last a month. Otherwise they should give more than 24 hours notice about it.

I have been very disappointed in how Scooter's runs their discount promotions.

There is another problem with how they run promotions. If you sign up for their free coffee at the end of the month you may only have a few days or even just one to use it. So if you choose to sign up, make it at the beginning of the month since they have a poorly run set up that only permits the coupons to run until the end of the particular month that you sign up for.

Krispy Kreme Donuts

Krispy Kreme Donuts (Doughnuts) has a "Friends" program. It does not say if any coupons or freebies are available just "special offers".

Clairol has a free subscription promotion to Rouge Magazine.

Red Lobster has a contest going on and will automatically enter you in it when you sign up. You also get a free birthday gift but it does not say what it is.

Red Hot and Blue

Red Hot and Blue, a barbecue chain has an email sign up club. Unfortunately they have a limited area for service AND require your physical address besides other personal information.

Unfortunately all they tell you is that you get "special member benefits, info and gifts" but whatever those are are not enumerated.

The website itself loads slow and is not easy to navigate. The link buttons on the bottom are not crisp and hard to read. It would have been better for the site to have not used flash and have added some GIFs for the buttons.

Red Robin- Free Birthday Burger!

Betty Crocker Coupons

Betty Crocker has an email sign up for coupons.

They tell you how much the coupons are worth before you sign up. Today it was $20.35

Their best coupon was a dollar off. They also show images of products and the amount of the coupon.

Besides signing up for the email service, you have to install a coupon printer.

Pillsbury Coupons

The great thing is that they tell you how much is available in coupons AND they show you a break down for each coupon. Today it is $24.40 with a dollar off as the largest single coupon.

The Old Days

Does anyone remember the old days where you could afford the newspaper and get coupons from there and that there were places and groups you could go to for coupon swaps?

Barnes and Noble- $25 sign up :(

Barnes and Noble has a club to join that touts over $50 in coupons. The catch is they want you to pay $25 to join. That's pretty hefty for an unknown coupon or discount.n I won't be joining. If you have tried this please let me know what you thought of it. Thank you.

Outback Steak House- No coupons found :(

I couldn't find any freebies or discounts or birthday specials at the Outback.

There is an electronic newsletter that you can sign up for but it does not even hint that a coupon might come your way much less any freebies.
